I think people hate what they cannot understand. Rancid and NOFX are probably the most talented punk bands around nowadays. Their live shows only reinforce that they are amazing musicians. Just because you don't constantly shred like Batio does not mean you are untalented. Look at Matt Freeman: "Another Night" is the craziest bass solo ever, and Smelly rips on the drums like nobody's business. Punk rules!
