Can I still learn to sing?

I started singing (sometime bak) then later I realised that I sometimes felt hurt so I stopped. Now I have not been singing for a long time and I can't ressist it. I want to sing coz I love t o sing and I can't live without it. what shell I do plz do tell me to hire a pro coz it is not possible. Help me if you can.

Once you feel comfortable about your voice and singing then record a song or some lyric of your choice. Play that piece to your friends without disclosing your name. See the reaction and comments.
