How to record your own music at home?????????!

Question:

How to record your own music at home?????????

I want to record my own music at home. I need to know what is/are the best mixer(s)(if that's what you call it) to use in recording your own music in your home, I want to make my own "beats". Also, I want to sample music from others songs, I need a mixer that will take the "singing" off of the music and just give me the instrumental. What mixer(s) do I need to make all this happen???
Please answer, thanks. :)

There are quite a few ways to do this...The Roland VG series are awsome.Tascam also makes great home "portastudios"...they come in 4 track,8 track, and 12 track versions.Yes they have built in drum sounds that are basically limitless. If you have a PC there are programs out there such as "pro tools" that are home studios that use PC version of a mixing console. As far as removing vocals, this can be done easily with even the most basic 4 track tape recorder(not a regular tape player mind you)vocals are usually the first or second track in the mix,so locate the track that has JUST vocals and turn the level down, and POOF there it is,music with no vocals, now record it to final version(or download to PC as MIDI file)and there it is all the music with vocals removed.I would start with a basic 4 track analog recorder, easy to use and VERY cost effective, until you got the hang of it,then look into other "digital home studios"..such as DAT(digital Audio Tape)..or CD...Good luck,Hope this helped!!
