U.S. rap is no more popular in France?

I'm working in a radio station and I'm must admit when i was younger U.S. rap was very demanding by the listener. now it's the opposite young people prefers french rap because they understand the lyrics, they say that they no more want to be the followers of the trend U.S. rap. Best album selling in France is booba, a french mc. Even in Europe we see the same situation
