Should I get lessons for my bass if i wanna be good?

Absolutely.

If you don't read music, you don't know the various playing styles (using your fingers, a pick, slapping the strings), etc., you will definitely benefit from pro instruction.

I taught myself when I took up the bass when I was 17. I got to be a pretty good player, but it took a long time, and thankfully I have a good ear. If I'd taken lessons, I would've reached this level in half the time.

But, just like any other instrument, lessons or not, you have to practice constantly if you want to be any good.
