Is being the best rapper alive/king of the south really that big of a deal??? (details)?

You kno, alot of us have been caught up lately into finding out who the best rapper alive/ king of the south is but when you think about it, *IT'S NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL!* Think about it, hip hop is at an all time low so being the best out really doesnt hold that much weight... If you go back to the 80's and 90's you didn't see to many rappers braggin about how they were the best out cuz the competition was way too strong. Nowadays the competition makes songs like "chicken noodle soup", "aunt jackie", and "2 step"... see what i'm sayin? its like that one basketball player you knew in highschool that thought he was the s hit cuz he was the talk of the school, but then he goes to college and gets a *WAKE UP CALL ON WHAT REAL BASKETBALL IS* and now he's sittin on the bench... ok i'm runnin out of stuff to say so leave ya yays and nays now- ya dig!

akl, what i'm tryin to say is rappers out today can go on and on about how they the best but at the end of the day you gotta ask, "but would you have been the best in 80's? 90's?" and they probably wouldn't... they'd be mediocre at best

Competition was a lot harder and fierce back in the day. YOu had people like Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Big Daddy Kane, Big L, Big Pun, Rakim, i could go on and on.

Now half the people out are ridiculously bad. Catchy song and beat, but the worst lyricicism ever.

Theres still a lot of heavy-weights out there. Nas, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Styles P, Papoose, Fabolous, Lupe Fiasco, Saigon, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Mos Def, Common, Cassidy......

Lil Wayne is far from the best rapper alive. I like his flow (but not that dumb reggae **** he keeps trying to pull off), hes got good punchlines, but overall his lyrics are weak. Hes just saying things that dont go with eachother, but just uses them because they rhyme. Its pretty basic.

Its still a big deal. Who wouldnt want to hold that crown?
