ok, when akon 1st came out i really liked him..his songs were not ALL clean or positive but they were real and from his heart...like his experiences in africa and the ghetto.....the song "ghetto" is 1 of my faves..........i dont knw but, i mean, was that stuff not sellin enough? cuz now hes like featured in every song, and hes resorted 2 mainstream songs with meaningless lyrics such as "smack that" and"i wanna f#@* you".....um....and all the songz hes featured in....ok i aint gonna lie....Smack that and I wanna "Love" u and othr stuff he now does like that...its catchy...i mean im 14, come on, i cant help but think mainstream, "not real" hiphop is catchy, cuz it is..but i still know wut REAL hiphop with meanin is........so yea i guess i like akon but not much respect 4 him nomore.....and the thing where he threw the guy offstage, and gettin in trouble, and like grindin with that 15 yr old gurl or wutever..........wut happened...he has the new song out already "Sorry, Blame it on Me"

and its ok, but seriously, i thinkits ok 4 him 2 do that fun mainstream dance stuff..but i wish he'd go back 2 his roots more and stop tryna please the mainstream hiphop world......hopefully when his new album comes out.....so wut do u think?

I so agree with you nowdays akon has come out with some pretty wack stuff. When he first came out he had some pretty deep stuff that is what got me intrested in him,. But now he comes out with songs such as "Smack That" with Eminem and "I Wanna Love You" with Snoop Dogg. Of course the songs are catchy but are they the songs that you want to listen and gain some postive energy on. Defenitley not. So I agree with you 100%.
