what instruments do you feel it is important for a band to have?
what instruments should a band never have?
Answers:
The true answer to this should ideally be "any instrument". The prog rockers of the 70s were Very experimental & anything outside of the standard guitars, bass, drums tradition was game. (but not excluding them)
As for instruments that a band should never have, again- there should be room for any. The Beatles would not've gotten many songs right had it not been for the sitar or the harmonium, or a number of orchestra instruments for example.
