Who's Heartbreakers are better? Johnny Thunders or Tommy Petty?!

Question:

Who's Heartbreakers are better? Johnny Thunders or Tommy Petty?

I'm just doing this because I'm bored, I don't think they're even comparable, Tom Petty may be vastly more popular but Johnny Thunders and his Heartbreakers put Tom Petty to shame musically. Probably because Johnny's music was ery much rooted in the original wave of rock (hance their exccelent version of "Do You Love Me") in all it's glory whereas Tom was much more of an 80's man. Too bad Johnny couldn't kick the heroin before it got him, poor stupid bastard. RIP

I expected as much.

Does anyone mind going back and editing their comments and saying if they even know who Johnny Thunders is?

Well I'm surprise many people have even heard of Johnny, it's all personal preference though, just 'cause Petty's released more material over the years doesn't really mean anything unless you like it. I don't mauch care for his music except for a few songs so all those albums are just more times he got it wrong to me. I like Thunders's approach better, plenty of guitar, lots of energy, and a perfect rock 'n' roll attitude. Plus they're supposed to have had one of the best live shows ever performed, and when you listen to live tracks it's hard not to believe it.

Answers:

Johnny Thunders of course! I have the entire Thunders catalog in my collection. with L.A.M.F. being my favorite, a true classic!

I for one know that the best music and the best bands rarely make it to the radio which concludes that mainstream music generally sucks!
