Prefb female to boost my morale, but anyone will do. exepect Jaco and stanley cooke, I know, he is phonomenial, but there has to be others, i'm thinking along the lines of Juan Alderete de la Pena or others

Female bass players
You will find female bass players out there. However, in the field of jazz and blues, they are rare. You could set precedence and become the innovator in these genres.
I've been able to locate only two woman who plays jazz on the bass.

There are a few female bassist in the field of rock. These too seem to be in limited numbers.
Carol Kaye, whom I assume to be the first female electric bass player, has made her mark in the music industry back in the 60's.
