Can someone please answer this?!

Question:

Can someone please answer this?

I'm 14 and my friend is 13, I play guitar and he plays drums. We just got a gig at a little festival and we need some good cover songs to do. There are going to be a lot of kids from a church, so it has to be approproate for them. We don't have a singer, so we're doing instrumental anyway. We need some good songs to play that will still sound good instrumental, and aren't too hard, but maybe look like it.

We like Steve Vai, Buckethead, Dragonforce, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody of Fire, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, NOT ACDC, Jimi Hendrix!!!, Boston, the Doobie Brothers, Rush, Aerosmith, and all that stuff.

Answers:

One cover song that's an instrumental that I see done all the time is called "Technical Difficulties" by Racer X. Paul Gilbert is the lead guitarist and he taught Buckethead. But every time I see some kids play that song I'm just blown away, and the audience usually is too. "Scarified" is another good one by Racer X. The only problem is I would consider them to be very difficult, and they would sound much better with a rhythm guitarist so if it's only you two then it may be kind of hard. But heck, it's nothing worse than Dragonforce or Steve Vai or Buckethead. Good luck guys.
