What is plastic when it comes to music???!

Question:

What is plastic when it comes to music???

I don't get why ppl think they are plastic artists who are destroying music culture..And i want to know what does that mean and how is that harmful to us.

I think we all have our own taste and like Marilyn Manson says that we're disposable teens. And if you think Manson is crazy,i think ppl like the stereotypes are much crazier because everyone likes what they like and that's that!

Can someone explain to me please??

Answers:

I think that when they say an artist is "plastic" it means they are easily shaped and molded by their record company/manager/producer. They will readily do whatever they are told just to sell albums, to satisfy the company's lust for money...completely forgetting about writing music they consider to be good. Unfortunately, most mainstream music is completely corporate controlled and marketed, the individuality and soul is completely sucked out of it, leaving the stuff we hear on the radio which all sounds basically the same. It's "plastic" because it comes from a factory and it's all done exactly the same. However, the rise of the internet is giving independent musicians a way to get their music out there without the record companies...so there is hope!
