Is it me or is society completley ignoring the bass guitar in bands.?!

Is it me or is society completley ignoring the bass guitar in bands.?

It's like 100% the most important instrument in every type of music but nobody is contructive with it. Guitar's are always overpowering it nobody does bass solos or does it barely anymore there are plenty of bands that are contructive with a bass (red hot chili pepper, audioslave, metallica, green day, nirvana) just to name a few but most stuff that plays on MTV and radio are to me just make me think that the drums and guitar are the only important intstruments in rock music.

How can people say it's boring they should listen to some funk and that should change there minds. They should listen to Cliff Burton, Flea, And Bootsy Collins

I think the reason why bass isn't as popular is because people overlook it when listening to the music. Everyone likes guitar solos and screaming, but when it comes to bass it sounds boring to them. Personally I like bass solos, especially Geddy Lee from Rush when he does the song YYZ.
