RONAN,MONT--Some MERLE HAGGARD fans here are likely singing the blues. police said Mark Sams, 48 was arrested for impersonating the son of country singing star MERLE HAGGARD, who had big hits such as "mama tried" and "I take a lot of pride in what I am".
Sams was signing autographs and using NOEL HAGGARD'S name and charging people a fee to have their pic taken with him Saturday outside the Valley Club lounge, Police said.
Sams initially told officers he was NOEL HAGGARD and his name had been changed when he was a child to protect him, authorities said, An agent for the HAGGARD FAMILY told police that Sams was an IMPOSTOR and Not related to MERLE HAGGARD!
Sams was arrested on an outstanding Montana warrant for allegedly issuing bad checks. He also has a warrant for his arrest out in Maryland!

Sounds like that ole boy is gonna be singing some folsome prison blues of his own, but he won't be "turning twenty one in prison doing life without parole", lol.
