Best song to sing for a singing competition?

I'm going out for a singing competition. I like to sing alto so i can be very strong in my voice but i can sing soprano also. What are a few good ideas to sing? maybe from musicals or oldies. Nothing too popular right now cause i want them to hear me singing it and not the person who sings it first. Please help. I need to find something soon. I just want it to be upbeat or a slow ballad that turns into something powerful!
