what's your favorite thrash metal band ? late 80's early 90's the golden era! .... what band you consider the best ? ..... was thrash metal era the best ? why ?

Testament was putting out the best thrash of that era, late 80's - early 90's. They were easily the most talented group then as well, with Chuck Billy's excellent voice and Alex Skolnick's mastery of the guitar. They were untouchable in the late Thrash era.
For best overall thrash band, Slayer is the only band with the longevity and consistency to have that distinction. They've never really failed to put out real metal, and have been loyal to the Thrash-Metal fan base.
Metallica has the distinction of having made the greatest thrash album ever, "Master Of Puppets". Most unfortunately, they've let everyone down with mediocre music time and time again for almost 2 decades now.
