What inspired Def Leppard's song "Ring of Fire"?!
Question:
What inspired Def Leppard's song "Ring of Fire"?
The song came from "Retro-Active", released in 1993.
Answers:
Ring of Fire is a song about Indian food. I tried to find a link to show this and couldn't find one, but I know 100% it is about (spicy) Indian food - I read it in (probably) Metal Edge waaaaaaaay back in 1993 when the album came out.
The song almost sounds like it's about a girl, but that's just because Def Leppard isn't really interested in recording a song that is overtly about Indian food. Ring of Fire is a metaphor about how good Indian food is (like being with a woman), but then how it can have a ... burning ... effect afterwards. "A feast of sparks..." sounds like some yummy lamb vindaloo to me.
