What happened to R&B music? R&B Groups? Has Hip-hop destroyed it compl!

Question:

What happened to R&B music? R&B Groups? Has Hip-hop destroyed it completely?

Jagged Edge, 112, Next, Tony Toni Tone, Mint condition, Babyface, Joe, Blackstreet, etc.

Urban music has turned into old school, rap, and hip-hop.

Old CDs get scratched and I'm not trying to listen to Buy U a Drank with my kid in the car.

What's up with this?

Answers:

I don't necessarily blame hip-hop itself, but I do partly blame today's producers, artists, and even fans.
Producers are only going to go for what sells. And unfortunately, music with meaning or a positive message isn't really what is selling nowadays. People would rather Lean Rock Snap and Buy Dranks. I don't think its really going to improve unless we as fans start to realize that this isn't the type of music we want to bring our kids, little brothers and little sisters up on. So until people realize that this stuff has no meaning to it (and I'm not bashing these songs, some of them are good songs to dance and work out to, I don't need a positive meaning ALL the time, but I just get tired of it dominating the radio) I think the rap/hip hop game is going to remain stagnant for a while.
