U Can't Touch This/Super Freak??

Ok, so I think anyone with ears who's heard both can tell that they have the same background music. What's up with that? How did that happen? Whose was it originally? Did the two artists care? Answers much appreciated!!!!!

I know what sampling is but MC took it to be the beat that everyone recognizes his song for from someone else-it's another thing to be somewhere in the middle of the song where people recognize it but don't remember the song by it.

Superfreak by Rick James came out in 1981 and MC Hammer sampled it for U Can't Touch This in 1990. If I remember correctly there was some legal wrangling becasue of it.
