Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory is an excellent way to learn music theory. It is published by the Alfred Publishing Company and they offer cds to accompany the ear training lessons that are offered in the book (after each unit of lessons, the book features a written review and an ear training review). It's a good way for any instrumentalist to learn music theory.
