Who are some blues piano players?!
Question:
Who are some blues piano players?
boogie-woogie or straight up blues. Does any one know of some Al Kooper music? (could be Cooper, cant remember, he started in the mid sixties I think) ... the most recent I've found is Eric Perkins, he does modern and a real good version of Green Onions. I would prefer old school. Thanks for any answers.

Answers:
Al Kooper? Hes more of an organist than a pianist. If you like him, get Live Adventures or Fillmore East. Live Adventures is the better of the two and even has a version of Green Onions. They both have Mike Bloomfield on guitar, which is why I like them so much. Al Kooper was also a founding member of Blood Sweat And Tears but was only on their first album. Actually their first album wasn't that good. There was only a few good songs. There was one great song though.
Blues piano players, huh? Otis Spann was definitely the best. He played with Muddy Waters for one. Other greats are / were Pinetop Perkins, Lafayette Leake, Dick Heintze (Roy Buchanan).
