I like to sing, and would like to know how be discovered...what do I do?

I have proper sound recording and CD making equipment, I just don't know how I would make it "real" you could say.

Create a recording of your own work,a song with music & lyrics you wrote or something you have specific permission to use.Shop it around to various Radio stations,or Various Universities/colleges with radio stations.Enter contests,like karaoke shows with prizes,host a karaoke show,or ask a local band to let you audition for them,if you're Canadian you stand a good chance 'cause all media content must be 33%,Canadian.Sing at weddings,funerals,in a church choir.Organize a group of entertainers/singers to entertain weekly at senior centers.Write a song about your city,an original,that can be sung at civic events,like,New York,New York,I left my Heart in San Francisco,etc.Offer to sing weekly at a neighborhood restaurant/lounge for a few dollars.Use the internet.Apply to be a back up singer,someone has to do it.
