Guitar players: Any tricks on reducing fret-sliding noise?

I notice more fret noise when my strings or my fingers are really dry.Try "Fret Fast" or another string oil and keeping your fingers/hands moisturized.Try smaller gauge strings...BUT it also makes a difference if you're talking acoustic and electric.
