Why has popular music gotten so horrible in the last decade?
I know that music executives run the show now more than most of the artists, but it seems to be so much of a sideshow these days. The artists can't even write their own music/lyrics anymore. Instead, "professional" writers who apparently have no performing talent do the writing, and the "artist" is just an attractive magnet for ticket sales. The unfortunate sacrifice is how horrible the music has become.

Because the mainstream music industry has realized that they don't have to produce anything of quality to still make money. They can produce mindless brain-candy from no-talent artists and still make a profit.
