It's not the guitar that matters, it's the guitarist. The world's most expensive guitar can't make a crappy guitarist sound any better! And if you practice a lot, and become really good, then a dreadful piece of junk will not prevent you from sounding great.
Do you think it matters what typewriter (what?) or Word Processor "Harry Potter" was written on?
If Picasso had used the 'wrong' brand of paint, don't you think you'd still know who he was?
Buy a $50 used guitar at a yard sale, put the $350 you'll save in a mutual fund. Add ten bucks a week, and in twenty years you'll have a beaten up old guitar and about $100,000 in the bank!
