Answers:

This is a hard question for anyone to tell you on line in words. I will however say some chords are easier than others. I would suggest starting with the major chords, (C, F, G, D, A, E, B ) I also found D7, G7,C7 easier to learn. I would recommend Mel Bay's Guitar Chords as the first book you need to get your hands on. It is the Bible of chord books. I also found a simple book also Mel Bay's , You can teach yourself guitar. Now some might find the songs babyish but I enjoyed them because it helps at first if you know the song you are trying to play. I would how ever start with the chord book because once you learn the major chords in the book you can just practice going from chord to cord. You could also make a tape saying different chords to just practice the cord changes alone. I might add that you can even get to the point where I can only describe as hearing the changes and chords in your head and play a little by ear after a while. That is how many professionals can just jump in on another band and jam as they call it. Also in learning the chords make sure you are careful about the position of your guitar and hands on the frets. Also the position of the fingers and really make sure you don't touch other strings or the strings are pressed down well or you could get a buzz. Lastly don't give up. It takes some time to even feel natural to your fingers and you will get sore and blisters if you are doing it right. Heh, before long you could even be writing your own stuff as well. Ii would also recommend a accustic guitar to practice on. It will be harder on the fingers but you can practice anywhere and it will build enurance. Once you master chords move one to Tabs but that is a whole other thing with lead guitar. Just have fun. Evita
