With all due respect to the other answers here, the major and minor scales are the same no matter what instrument you play - each has a consistent pattern of intervals. See http://esvc001419.wic024u.server-web.com... for a list of the major scales.
Minor scales come in 3 forms: (1) natural minor, (2) harmonic minor, and (3) melodic minor.
(1) Natural minor is the same as a major scale beginning and ending on the 6th scale degree; see http://esvc001419.wic024u.server-web.com... for a list of the natural minor scales.
(2) Harmonic minor is simply the natural minor with a raised 7th; see http://esvc001419.wic024u.server-web.com... for a list of harmonic minor scales.
(3) Melodic minor is like the natural minor, but with both the 6th and 7th raised; see http://esvc001419.wic024u.server-web.com... for a list of melodic minor scales.
Please note that, as a professional musician, I don't agree with everything the author of these pages says - some of his explanations about scales as combinations of tetrachords is unnecessarily complicated, but at the bottom of each page, the scales are all listed and they're all correct - I guess that's what matters most. :-)
I wish you all the best in your musical endeavors!
