Question:
How does a singer come about their stage presence...?
I am going to do my first show Wednesday, but I am worried I'll look stiff as a board. I'm not a dancer. I do comedy songs...for this show. And I rap, but not this particular show.
How can all these performers just look so cool on stage?
Answers:
Be confident of you're material
Don't rush
If you think you appear stiff....try using/holding a prop....maybe just a bottle of water (it works, honest!)
Use the whole stage............move around
Pick several faces around the entire room, and work to them
Be LOUD and CLEAR
Don't forget pauses......they can work for you.
Be gracious, be professional.....it shows
Afterward......take the time to analize your show........what worked..........what didn't......and why?
Taping it (audio, video) would be a great idea
Just the fact you're tying it means you have something special going for you ....you're half way there already
Most of all have fun......there's no greater gift than making someone smile, if only for a moment.
