I was wondering does anyone have any ideas what this part means;

Through his inner chaos and pain he reaches out to his special someone with a notion of passionate love, I suggest girlfriend. He wants her to share in his confused, thought to be romantic plans, but he realizes that he is alone in his inner world as she rears away in horror.

So he abandons the 'ferris wheel' ALONE. The plain brievity and distorted quality of this last sentence says passing is sudden and sinister, unromantical, and rather than solving anything, being a torn end.
