This girl is on the music video. Who's the artist, and what's the song called?

This girl that look like Deb from Napoleon Dynamite is in a sad music video. I searched on you tube, and I think it's by Lifehouse. I typed, "Sad Lifehouse" or "Sad Lifehouse music video". And couldn't find what I was looking for. So I need your help. Who's the artist with that girl. And I think in the music video, the girl has a bad father and hits her. And the mom is there too. But I can't remember much of it. I'm not sure if the music video is in black and white. So please let me know ok? Thank you! ^_^
