king louie: How sad no one considers him an artist! I never knew that, poor guy! Maybe because he is always just featured in everyone else's songs. Actually he has a lot of CDs out but i bet no one buys them or even knows about them. I like his G-Funk classics CD, i guess i'm the only weirdo that listens to it :(

Actually he does have some good songs on his own if you like that kind of music. His "G-Funk Classics" is his best album in my opinion. "Music and Me" was alright......

Maybe if other MCs and producers in hip hop would be more unique and innovative like him, then so many hip hop songs won't sound like carbon-copies of other ones. Let's be ourselves not somebody else.

P.S. Yeah, I'm not downing you Lina. I know your question is genuine. I just had to let that out for those who don't understand the blessing of uniqueness. The industry wants us to put artists in specific music "genres" (which is not a bad case all the time, because it helps the public know what they are buying before they listen to it). But, a lot of times, that sort of "genre" naming causes the artists and the audience to become watered down because they are trying to produce or listen for one type of sound in a certain genre.
