Do you ever feel guilty about getting songs from places like LimeWire?!

Question:

Do you ever feel guilty about getting songs from places like LimeWire?

I do when the I get it from a band that has been declining in pupularity as of late or from a band that is struggling with it's career. Does anyone feel similar?

Answers:

If the music (or any content) is copyrighted, hopefully you regret taking something that isn't yours.

People can argue all they want about the impracticality of someone "owning" music, or data, but the fact of the matter is that you want something someone else has, and aren't willing to pay for it, so you are just taking it.

True, no physical property has been lost, but if you were a musician (or a software programmer, or an architect, or etc.) would you be okay with everyone using your designs, ideas and such without properly reimbursing you?

Granted, in the United States, only uploading of copyrighted material is currently illegal under the current interpretation of the laws, but most filesharing software require that you upload while downloading....
