What are some good, not yet well known bands?
Nothing real heavy metal or screaming into the mic kinda stuff.
Answers:
Check out Apollo Sunshine. They have a really cool sound. They're pretty new (to my knowledge) out of the MA area. They're first record is really great.
Band of Horses. A really melodic, guitar rock-y group. I really like their record a lot too.
If you're into accoustic stuff there is a guy named Imaad Wassif that was in the last incarnation of the Folk Implosion (though I don't hold it against him) who made a pretty decent solo record.
Alaska is pretty cool. They have kind of a nice, melodic alt rock sound.
Grandaddy has hung it up, but Sumday and the Sophware Slump (they are really spelled that way, a play on words) are just downright brilliant records that never got the acclaim they deserved.
