I have started playing guitar and I found some chords on the internet like E major, A major, B major, etc. As there are many ways to play a chord like E major can be played on fret 1 and even fret 7. Do they sound the same?
I saw a vidoe on youtube in which Drake bell was playing E major on on the 7 fret and I played it on fret 1 and it didn't sound the same.

No, they won't sound the same. The sound will depend on where you play the chord, like if you play it an octave higher it will sound higher, play it an octave lower it will sound lower.
