embrace the moment and write whenever your creative side wants you to.
put together some lyrics, maybe the subject could be about lost love, somemone dying, mising someone, what is wrong with the world, pollution,... or on the brighter side happy love, right stuff in the world, people working together, true and happy love.. or wateva you want.
play (or get someone else to play) the very basic pop drum beat. then put together a chord sequence on guitar/keyboard/whatrevr instrument you play,
then try and fit your lyrics into it all, so try a few times to sing a tune and it will come to you.
then you have a song!!
and practise will make perfect!
