What is a "Line In and Line Out" for on a guitar amp?!

Question:

What is a "Line In and Line Out" for on a guitar amp?

Answers:

line in is a line level signal input. line level input is the level of output standard cd players, ipods, etc put out through headphone outputs, etc. RCA cables like on your TV also are line level in/outputs. line out is, obviously, thus a line level signal output of the amp. a line in could be used to play along with a CD through an amp to practice, or to run a synthesizer through the amp. line out could be used for recording possibly, or to run to a line level input amplification system, etc.
