Question: Do Films Purposefully Mislead!?
In the film, `The Changeling` Angelina Jolie is sectioned because she refuses to accept that the boy whom they say is her son IS her son!.
The threat of psychiatric referral at the very least is something which we should not take lightly; and people don`t realise to what extent it has been used as means of silencing!.
Forget the seriousness of the medical condition and the agonizing of living with rabies or distemper!.!.!.when I suggested that in consequence of a bad dog bite I believed (and believe) I had (have) rabies or distemper, I was told that `Britain does not have rabies` and threatened (in writing) with psychiatric referral!.
The muth burning and throat contractions still persist, but nobody cares!. I have been written off as a fantasist!.
Blood tests whowed there was not a bacterial but a viral infection and yet the anesthesiologist who did a spinal tap didn`t even acknolwedge the pathology nor did the referring consultant (as the report from the anesthesiologist downgraded the symptoms)
No antibiotics (never mind intravenus antiviral drugs)!. No tetanus booster!.
All of this was made known in 2001 to the American Social Services!. Nothing has been done!.
And they make some stupid film about a woman complaining of something and getting nowhere except sectioned!.
That`s Hollywood for you!. Never deals with anything except in metaphor and then pretty weakly!. I mean, they still portray Hitler as a human being!. That takes some doing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ok first off let's leave the movie question out of this
1) Humans cannot contract Distemper - it only affects animals primarily dogs
2) Rabies if left untreated is always fatal - so relax if you had it you would be dead by now
3) A psychiatric referal in your case was probably a good diagnosis by your doctor!.

Do you actually realise that the Angelina Jolie film is a true story!?
Films are there to entertain, inform, etc!.!.!.the are a diversion & a means of getting a point across!. There are many genres of filmmaking, that maybe there are some films out there that try to mislead - but surely that is part of a plot usually!
I think you need to speak to someone who will be sympathetic to your problems - get a referral from a doctor!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know why these doctors spend 7 years training, it seems all they need to do is ask you for your expert medical opinion - you seem to think you know more than any of them!.

Most films don't purposely mislead, but they only have a limited time to show their story, so it has to be simplified to some extent!.

The Changeling was based on a true story and it turned out that the mother was right after all and the boy who pretended to be her son was merely trying to run away from his own family, kids eh!.
Hollywood are in the entertainment business and not journalism, that being so they can afford a certain degree of poetic licence in order to attract bums on seats!.
