Question: Question about "The Empire Strikes Back"!.!.!.!?
i don't really understand the scene where Yoda sends Luke into the cave!. Luke fights a fake Darth Vader (which has Lukes face underneath the mask), what does this scene mean!? and where did that fake Vader come from!? did Yoda just happen to have one stashed away in a cave!?!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Yoda said the cave is strong with the Dark side of the force!. He send Luke into the cave to face his fears, part of the Jedi training!.
Obviously, Luke feared Darth Vader, so the force "made" a Darth Vader appear!. Luke fights the vader and wins (fore shadowing to return of the Jedi)!.
We also see Luke's face in the fallen Vader!. This tells us that Luke is capable of evil too and could fall prey to the darkside of the force, and this is also a foreshadow that Luke is related to Vader!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There's a book series called "Heir to the Empire" set 5 years after jedi where Luke returns to try to find some answers!.

He realizes that Yoda was so powerful he could control flight into the area (why luke crashed) and even the tree place!.

Vader (the fake) was just a test of Luke's abilities to face his own worst enemy!.

It was more of a hallucination kinda thing!. Its been a while since i have seen it, but i want to say that Yoda was trying to get the point across that if you let your fear get to you, you can end up like Vader!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

You take your fears with you!.

That′s why Darth Vader appears thereWww@Enter-QA@Com
