Question: Scene in Phantom of the Opera that seems cut!?
Okay, I'll make this as least confusing and as short as possible!. In the 2004 movie The Phantom of the Opera there is a scene that drives me crazy because I feel I'm missing something!.
Raoul and Christine just reunited in her dressing room after her first performance!. He insists that they go out and he is going to get the horses and whatnot and will be waiting for her!. He leaves the room!. After he leaves a black gloved hand turns a key outside her door to lock it!.!. Madam Giry sees this!. Was that the Phantom's hand!?!? He was parading around Outside her dressing room and locked her in!? And Madame Giry saw this and did nothing!?!?
Okay, then immediately we see Christine dressing/undressing!.!.!. in any case, she looks like she is in her nightgown, not in a dress ready to go out with Raoul (and the opera house is being closed down at this point and the lights are being turned off)!. Am I missing something!?!? Did she go out with Raoul!?!.!. I mean, this feels like it is hours later and she is back from the date!.!. but she couldn't have, because the door was locked from the outside!. So did she just blow him off or something!?
Raoul comes back up the stairs, to her door, and of course can't get in because the door is locked!. Was he still waiting for her!? I'm still not getting why she was in a nightgown and taking her good ol' time at getting ready for a date with her major crush!.

Yes, the hand is the Phantoms!. Madame Giry does nothing because she believes the Phantom deserves to do what he wants cause he trained aand loves Christine!.
The costume change was just neccesary for the rest of the scene!. It could have just been what was on underneath her dress!. Or she could have been putting it on and going to change in her dorm room!.
Raoul goes to ready his horses and stuff, which takes a while, and by the time he returns, the doors locked and the lights are out!. And, meanwhile Christine stays in her room, readying herself!. The lights being put out are done so for dramtic effect!. They would most likely have been put out quickly because the were candles and and gas burners!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
