The Haunting is what you are describing!. One was made in 1963 the newer one is from 1999!.

She's right about it being The Haunting!.!. but you can rule out the original!.!. the plot for the original was not even close to the remake!.!. (the remake was actually like they took the original The Haunting, and the Original Haunting of Hell House and mashed them together )
