I very much agree with that! I fell in love with "Star Wars" (the original) from the very first time I saw it in the theater more than three decades ago! I recall saying aloud to my friends, as the ships pass over us (Well, it feels that way), "Someone finally got it right!"
I love the "Star Wars" saga, some installments more than others of course!. It's a brilliant six-film/double tetralogy, and I hope that George Lucas can do what he spoke of in interviews way back when: a trilogy of trilogies!. In some of his earliest interviews just before then soon after the movie was released, he mapped out his plans!. So, people should stop rewriting history, saying that he came up with the plan later!. He wanted to do this from the start! Hooray, Mr!. Lucas!
But, the original can stand alone as a wonderful action/adventure "space opera"!.
I must explain that I was born the year sci fi made its comeback: 1951!. After many SF films, the genre seemed to fade except for films such as "2001: A Space Odyssey"!. So, "Star Wars" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" certainly were a double-boost to this genre, which still is going strong!. Lucas helped steer moviemakers back to a truer path of sci fi, which continued in "Battle Beyond the Stars", "The Last Starfighter" and others!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It depends on which one!. The saga as a whole is not one movie!.
I would say, Empire Strikes back, one of the Star Wars movies is one of my favorite movies, actually all three of the first trilogy and one of the second trilogy are in my top 20 at least, the firs three are all in my top 10!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
