Does anyone know this movie ?!

it was a movie about a scientist who sends messages out to space and receives a message back, i think its a plan on how to make a spaceship, but when they put it together its kind of round, and the first time they use this machine a guy from a group that is against it blew himself up to destroy it, then the scientist uses this machine when the Japanese build it and the round space ship goes through another part and to the scientist she goes through a wormhole and sees what seems to her heaven and is there for 18 hours, but to everyone else she never launched at all, she just fell through, but when the scientist tells the people what she saw, she had no evidence but only 18 blank hours of tape, i hope thats enough info for uWww@Enter-QA@Com
