They is an easy way to discover the answer for Aliens!. Being made a 1986 the animations around were not good enough!.
Most of the time the aliens were puppets!. They only used CGI when they wanted them to do something where puppets weren't fast enough!. For example in Alien 4 the aliens were in costumes!.

With the number of Aliens that were used in the movie, and the amount of action in the Story, you would think that the Aliens are animated!. And to my knowledge, that would be true!. It is better and less costly to use computer graphics for such scenes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
