Why do people relate to antiheroes?!

Question: Why do people relate to antiheroes!?
Answers:
I think we've had so many films made over the years where the hero is this clean cut wouldn't hurt a fly amazing person that no-one could ever live up to, that we have finally reached the point where we want to see someone that is more real in human nature standards as we know it, more of a person that we could see ourselves being!.

It is far easier to relate to someone who saves people or has some powers, but also smokes, drinks, struggles with their emotions or has some darker past that makes them strive forward to save but often makes them question themselves as to why!?

This is because no-one person out there is perfect, but we all like to think we could be the hero, when you see the hero as someone with similar faults to our own, it's far easier to relate to them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Perhaps most of us know that the average person doesn't have heroic qualities!. We can believe in someone who has failings and weaknesses but manages to rise above them occasionally!.

In the Sixties and Seventies, we Baby Boomers were drawn to the antiheroes because of their rebellion against "the Man" and conformity!. So, heels and tough guys such as those in "Hud", "Cool Hand Luke", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "The Graduate" were easier to relate to at a time when the catchphrase was "Don't trust anyone over 30!." (Have we come a long way or what!?!)

People can empathize with less-than-heroic characters!. A hero, if too lofty, can become intimidating, which is why Marvel introduced comic book characters with problems after a couple of decades of fairly cleancut, uncomplicated ones!.

The trend continues today (ex!. Captain Jack Sparrow) though sometimes a truly good-guy hero manages to arise!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

people empathise with anti-heroes because they act in ways we wish society would allow us to!. anti-heroes are not only defined by breaking the rules and never bending to authority, but are in fact celebrated for it, and that is something we all wish we could get away with!. they represent the inner voice in all of us that tells us what we are really thinking, or what we really want to do, but which we have to suppress so that we dont become socially unacceptable!. take wolverine for instance!. if someone talks down to him or tries to patronise him, the first thing he would do is punch them in the face!. that is something we would all want to do if someone did that to us, but it would mean consequences, angry people and possible jailtime!. that is why we dont do it!. but anti-heroes often dont hav to face real-life consequences, which is something we all envy!. also, take larry david in curb your enthusiasm!. if a thought comes into his head, no matter how wrong or disgusting, he says it!. even tho larry david doesnt appear 'cool' or 'exciting' in a conventional sense, we admire his character for doing the things we would want to do but stop ourselves from doing!. anti-heroes are fantasy figures that exist in a world without consequencesWww@Enter-QA@Com

Relating to anti-heroes is a recent phenomenon and a reflection of the society, specially after the Mafiascos were glorified!. Otherwise, there were times when Heroes were Heroes - and time will come, when Old will be back again!.!.!.and Heroes would be Heroes again!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Probably because we're so sick of shiny, perfect heroes who can't do anything wrong, and want a hero has a dark side to them!.!.!.it also makes them more sexy for me!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because all the heroes are tossers!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
