Question: How do you think the live-action Dragonball film will fare!?
I am an ardent fan of the Dragonball Z series, and although I have only seen a few episodes of its predecessor, a lot rides on this movie for future installments!. Unfortunately, the leaked trailer does not do it justice and neither does the casting, IMO!.

they quite clearly blew it!. for one thing, they have placed it in the real world with modern cars and clothes etc!. all this does is make it seem more ridiculous!. the cartoon took place in some strange alternate universe, but we accepted it because they created an entire world for the characters to inhabit!. now, its just a bunch of people dressed up like hong kong kids with weird powers!. the fundamentals of the show are already off!.
i agree about the casting too!. the lead is just too young and weak-looking to convince as goku, he is meant to be the greatest warrior in the universe , but here he just looks like a high school kid with a stupid haircut!. he also isnt much of a comedy actor from what ive seen of him so i dont see myself empathising with him the same why i would with goku from the cartoons!. the only thing i like about the casting is having spike from buffy play piccolo!. hes an excellent actor and kind of good for the role but it looks like they have a very weird look for him which isnt that great!. finally, it just looks like a typical crappy kung fu movie right now, there are none of the fireballs and powers in the trailer!. it just looks like another bad wire-fu movie!. i really hope it will turn out well somehow but i think there are far too many things wrong with it right nowWww@Enter-QA@Com
