not to be a purist but there is no chance the movie will ever be as good as the original!. for one thing, the graphic novel is layered in a way that is different to movies, and for another it is far too dense a novel to make even into a 3hr movie!. it will probably end up being more spectacle and less subtext than the original!.
that said, i am extremely excited about it and think it will be brilliant!. its my most anticipated movie of the year!. i only recently read the book and loved it and i think there is scope to make an exceptional movie from it, just not as good as the book!. but if it is edited correctly, the movie could come close!. i just hope they dont get so fixated on the look of the movie and focus on the characterisation, which was always one of the mosti mportant aspects of the book!. but i love the casting choices, very unexpected and its good there are no major stars to distract from the plot, and the trailer was brilliant!. if the movie turns out to be a 3hr version of the trailer i would be exceptionally happyWww@Enter-QA@Com

I'll be delighted if the film turns out to be a good adaption, but I really don't have much faith in Zak Snyder as a director since he doesn't have a wealth of experience; he may go for striking imagery over substance!.
As far as the idea of a film version of "The Watchmen" being better than the graphic novel itself, I don't believe that would be possible!. "The Watchmen" is an involved story which spans several decades and it isn't going to be possible to condense all of that material down into a two hour or even three hour movie and not lose something!. I think it would be possible to do a good film adaption of Moore's story, but there is no way that a movie version could improve on the original!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

To tell you the truth I thought it was a bad idea!. The thought of the movie just made me mad that a lot of people would not read it because it is a comic book (even though it was a good enough to be on the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to the present)!.
Then I heard Zack Snyder was directing and I thought, "Dawn of the Dead was fan-*******-tastic and 300 kicked a shitload of Persian ***"!. Then when the trailer came out I watched it about 30 times in a row because it looked like nothing I have ever seen on screen before!.
So now I have to say is that I plan on seeing it as many times as possible!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
