In LOTR why doesnt anyone try saving Gandalf when he is about to fall off the br!
Question: In LOTR why doesnt anyone try saving Gandalf when he is about to fall off the bridge in Moria!?
Gandalf is hanging off the ledge, and the Balrog is to far down to use his whip again!. But when the hobbit people try to pull him back up, the others hold them back! Why!? *not complaining because it makes an awsome battle, but im just curious!. :-pWww@Enter-QA@Com

Good question!. It's been a while since I read the books, so I may be off a bit, but maybe they were pulling the hobbits back in case the bridge would crumble again!.
Or perhaps they all knew that it was time for Gandalf to split ways with the hobbits for a while!. As you can see, I believe at that point is when the fellowship begins to break apart!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The bridge is severely weakened and any attempt to help Gandalf could cause the remainder of the bridge to collapse, taking the rest of them with him!.

Goblins were still firing arrows at the group, and the bigger members of the Fellowship probably didn't want the hobbits to risk falling, as well!. also, the bridge, at that point, was extremely weak!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Frodo trys but is held back by i believe aragon, or borimir (sp)
apart from being key to the story, the belith would easily outweight even the whole "fellowship"

Most of them were already around the corner!. Only Frodo, Boromir, and Aragorn were still there!. Aragorn was too far away and Boromir was holding Frodo back!. And I think they were in shock!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
They probably held back the hobbits cause they didn't want them to get pulled down too!.!.!.!.and I THINK in the book, Aragorn tried to save Gandalf but the wizard made him stay away!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
