The compilation of music that is the soundtrack for "2001: A Space Odyssey" is wonderful! They chose wisely, which is apparent when you listen to it minus the visuals!.
I have a rather large collection of soundtracks, most of them on vinyl, for I started buying them in the mid-Sixties, when my allowance allowed!. Sadly, after the huge success of the Spielberg and Lucas films with John Williams' music, soundtracks no longer end up in the bargain bins but have reached outrageous prices!. I say "sadly" because I used to be able to buy stacks of orchestral soundtracks for as low as 50 cents each!. Thanks for ruining that, John Williams! (Just joshing!.!.!.) I could name dozens of others I have listened to many times throughout the years!. Those from James Bond films generally are a good buy; anything with John Barry is!
EDIT: So, is the thumbs down because you didn't like these soundtracks!? I can't imagine any movie music fan not thinking they're amazing, especially if you're partial to symphonic/orchestral productions!. Oh well!.!.!. I wanted to include the composers' names because they tend to be overlooked or ignored!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
