Is it me, or are movies getting worse?!
Question: Is it me, or are movies getting worse!?
Now, I am sixteen, male and work in a video shop, and find that so many of these new movies are terrible! I can't stand some of this stuff that is being released such as 'The Hottie and the Nottie", "Meet the Spartans" and so many other movies!.
None of my favourite films such as 'The Blues Brothers', 'Gone with the Wind', 'Casablanca' and 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' are were made in the last 20 years!.
It also seams that we are 'Recycling' ideas such as bringing back 'Rambo' and 'Indiana Jones'!. Along with new movies such as 'Speed Racer'!.
Don't get me wrong, not all new movies are terrible, but film has gone downhill for a while now!. Like how Disney has pretty much stopped creating fantastic animations such as 'The Lion King', 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' and 'Peter Pan'!. And instead, has created such movies as (oh god, the horror!) 'Camp Rock' and (please! Have mercy!) 'High School Musical' (Walt must be spinning in his grave)

There have been good and bad movies through out the years, but you're right, it seems as if there are more bad then good movies for years now!.
It seems as if Hollywood just wants the quick buck at the theater then rush it to DVD!. Before they had to put out a much better product in order to keep people returning to the theaters in order to make back the money they put into the film!.
It's nice hearing that someone your age likes the classics, like Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, ect!.!.!. Heck, they were old back when I was your age!. I'm 49!. and a sucker for the B sci!.fi!. movies of the 50's!. They sure aren't classics but they're a lot of fun to watch!.
If enough people your age start complaining and not going to see the lesser movies maybe Hollywood will catch on and try to come up with better films!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

You're absolutely right, people have been raised with toys that play by themselves and video games!. This generation and the one to come has lost their imagination!. Some have survived, but not many!. It's amazing how even when they redo a movie they completely lose the feel of it!. Say, Narnia, great graphics and amazing action, but it completely loses it's flavor when they skip little things!. Like when Mr!. Tumnus was lulling Lucy to sleep, in the new movie Aslan scared him into not taking Lucy!. In the old film (and book) he made the decision himself, which showed his character was good, not evil!. They also tried to eliminate the Christian feel to it, but C!. S!. Lewis was a Christian and wrote his books to reflect are lives with God, you can't just take it out because when you do, there is nothing left!. People need to realize that imagination in a child is extremely important, once we realize that, I can definitely see a brighter future!. In general, I think Hollywood movies are getting far worse!. There have been some recent ones I've enjoyed, like "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind!." But in general, they're getting worse by the year!. Seriously, I can't believe some of the dumb concepts that get greenlit these days! (Someone please explain to me who came up with the idea of "Kangaroo Jack!")
Luckily, I think many independent, foreign, and documentary films made in the past few years are still of excellent quality!. You have to see something like "The Fall" or "The Sea Inside!." I know that I was going to foreign films in the theater by your age!. Do they have an art house theater in your area or perhaps a college that shows films on campus!? You may be able to find good movies through those venues!.
If not, there's always a service like Netflix, which is very affordable and will suggest great films based on your tastes and ratings for the movies you've already seen!. The selection is incredible, and you have the convenience of them sending the films right to your house!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
