I have a question about the Steven Speilberg film A !.I Artificial Intelligence
At the end David and Teddy are found and thawed out and reactivated by some beings
Are these being supposed to be Robots that have evolved over the years on earth ie decedents of Mecas with the human race now extinct !?
Or are they supposed to be Aliens discovering an abandoned frozen world
I might have missed it but It wasn't clear in the film

2000 years later, Manhattan is buried under several hundred feet of glacial ice, and humans are extinct!. Mechas have evolved into an alien-looking humanoid form!. They find David and Teddy: functional mechas who knew living humans!. David wakes up and realizes the fairy was fake!. Using David's memories, the mechas reconstruct the Swinton home, and explain to him via a mecha of the Blue Fairy that he cannot become human!. However, they recreate Monica from a lock of her hair which has been faithfully saved by Teddy, but she will live for only a single day and the process cannot be repeated!. David spends the happiest day of his life playing with Monica and Teddy!. Monica tells David that she loves him and has always loved him as she drifts to sleep for her final time!. This was the "everlasting moment" he had been looking for, he closes his eyes, falls asleep for his first time, and goes "to that place where dreams are born"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
technically it was a Stanley Kubrick film, it was his next project, but he died before it could be realized, which is a shame, since it would have been a masterpiece!. Speilberg took all the material that Kubrick had, the designs, and the knowledge from conversations with him (the 2 were friends) and made the film!. He tried to make it somewhat close to Kubricks's vision, but it reeks of Speilberg flair!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
They're Aliens but what they discover is that this little has a memory something like a computer Hard Drive so the aliens decide that the meca devoted all his life trying to be a normal kid so the aliens give him a chamce to fullfill his dream in exchange of all the info they gathered about the human beigns!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
